Flex

A flexy carving board that turns every ride into a workout.

The Loaded Vanguard is a classic for a reason. This 38" version is built for carving, pumping and getting around town with a lively flex that responds when you lean into it.

The cambered deck and snowboard-inspired construction give it a springy, energetic feel. Instead of simply rolling from A to B, the Vanguard encourages you to keep moving through your turns and generate speed with your body.

This is a deck only, so you can build it around the trucks, wheels and bushings that suit your riding style.

Why we like it

  • Lively flex: The deck loads and springs back as you carve, giving the ride a responsive, energetic feel.
  • Built for carving: Camber and a flexy construction make it especially fun for carving and pumping.
  • 38" size: Long enough to feel like a proper longboard while remaining relatively compact and easy to move around with.
  • Proven design: The Vanguard has been part of Loaded's lineup since 2002 and is one of the boards that helped define its carving-focused approach.
  • Build it your way: Pair it with 180mm trucks and around 70–75mm wheels for a classic carving setup, or customize the components around how you ride.

The quick version

Best for: Carving, pumping and cruising
Ride feel: Flexy, lively and responsive
Length: 38"
Width: 8.5"
Wheelbase: 31.5"
Profile: Camber
Mount: Drop-through
Flex: Flex 3 / 4 options for the 38" version

One thing to know: This isn't the board we'd point you toward if your priority is high-speed downhill stability. The flex is part of what makes the Vanguard fun, but it also makes it more specialized than a stiff, stable commuter board.
